It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Photo via Hearts and Laserbeams on Etsy

Hey all! Whew! What a week. Jen is just wrapping up at Oh Sweet Sadie! tomorrow night and I was out last weekend at Greensboro's First Friday Indie Mart and Shop Local (also in Greensboro).

Can you believe the holiday season is just around the corner??? It didn't just sneak up on us this year. It pulled some serious Crouching Tiger moves and pounced! That said, have you started your December shopping? We're hunkering down in our studios and loading up on goodies in the SHOP. If you haven't been in a while, come on over and check us out. We've added some new items like Jen's ADORABLE paper mobiles and needle felted mobiles that we're really excited about and have updated some oldies but goodies such as our hoop-dee-doo clocks. And if you're the type, like me, that lusts after online goodies but puts off the buy until shipping costs total more than the purchase, watch for us at Greensboro's December First Friday Indie Mart, Holiday Mart at the Greek Orthodox Church on Friendly, Durham's Rock and Shop, or The Beehive Bazaar in Provo. Have you heard?

In case you didn't know, SquackDoodle is a collaboration between myself, Heather, and my sassy younger sister, Jen. Unfortunately we don't share a zip code. Boo. I live in Greensboro, NC and Jen lives in Salt Lake City, UT. However, we still come together to bring you our crafty little creations no matter where the venue. That said, we are excited to share with you of some upcoming shows we'll be participating in. Hooray!

If you live in the Triad or Triangle area (and you care to make the drive!), SquackDoodle will be at Shop Local on State Street in Greensboro Saturday, November 6 from 11:00 am-5:00 pm.

If you live in the Salt Lake area, come down to Oh Sweet Sadie! located in SoDa Row at Daybreak. This is going to be a fun three day event full of fabulous handmade shopping and crafty make and take classes.

Oh Sweet Sadie runs from:
Thursday, November 11 from 5:00-10:00 pm
Friday, November 12 from 3:30-10:00 pm
Saturday, November 13 from 10:00 am- 4:30 pm

For more information, check out the Oh Sweet Sadie! site HERE.

Also going on in the Provo area (it's just a little further south y'all) is The Beehive Bazaar being held at The Women’s Center. We have never participated at this venue so we're really excited to be a part of it. Stop in for some more fabulous shopping (perfect for slackers like me who haven't even thought of starting Chrismas shopping) handmade style in this three day event.

The Beehive Bazaar runs from:

Thursday, December 2 from 9:00 pm – 12:00 am
Friday, December 3 from 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
Saturday, December 4 from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm

For more information, check out The Beehive Bazaar site HERE.

Thanks to everyone at Shop Local, Oh Sweet Sadie!, and The Beehive Bazaar for letting us be a part of their fun. All of these events were highly sought after and we feel very appreciative for being chosen to participate. :)

Can't wait to see you there!!!

What a great weekend!!!

So SquackDoodle participated in the Tate Street Festival here in Greensboro on Saturday and all I can say is thank you to those supported us and, really, all things handmade. It was so much fun! The crowd was lively, the music was great, the food was yummy, and the weather (though a little hot) was beautiful. I've heard from other vendors that it has rained the last three years in a row but not this time. The sun was out in all its glory for this little duckie! Check out our pics below to feel like you were right there with us joining in the festivities. ;)

Did I mention there were roller derby girls skating around??? I CANNOT wait to check out a match!!! If only you lived in Greensboro Jen. Sigh.

Wishing for sweater weather (sigh)

When is this crazy hot weather going to end??? It's almost October! I can't wait for cold nights and seeing my breath in the air and walking out to frost on the grass in the morning. ♥♥♥ LOVE ♥♥♥

In the meantime, I guess we'll just have to daydream about boot wearing, sweater loving days of red leaves and cool breezes via these fun little articles of clothing.

Oh how I wish I could wear a trapper hat!

Upcoming Events!

Hi all! We wanted to let you know about some upcoming markets that we'll be participating in. Yay! On Friday, 9/3, we'll be downtown for the FIRST FRIDAY INDIE MARKET located on the corner of S. Elm and MLK in Greensboro from 4-9 pm. If you haven't been out there yet, come down! It's a great time and something fun to get you out of the house on a Friday evening. And with live music, puppets, frozen yogurt, sparkly jewelry, and of course, us! it's fun for families and friends alike. :)

SquackDoodle will also be at the GROVE WINERY for the Fifth Annual Crafts in the Grove Arts Festival and Grape Stomp. That's right! A Grape Stomp! How fun does that sound???? Grove Winery is easy to find. Just follow the highway signs from Highway 29 North. They're about 11 miles from the Greensboro city limits, or 25 minutes from downtown. The festival runs Saturday and Sunday from 12-6 pm. Again, it's a perfect way to get out of the house - either with some gal pals, dudes, or the spouse and kidlets. So come on out and sneak a peek!

Hope to see you next weekend. Say hi to Heather! :)

Shopping Cart -- Foxy Lady!

How adorable (and clever!) are these cute little necklaces/mini purses from A WILDERNESS FOR YOU AND ME? I guess you could call them, "sly like a fox!" Oh how I wish I still had those crazy nights out with the ladies so I had an excuse to wear such cuties. Is it wrong to think of a hurried jog down the hall to your child's room at daycare as your own personal catwalk? Jen?

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Look at this adorable mirror and great DIY tutorial from COUNTRY LIVING! It would look great in a bathroom, guest room, or in a kids room. I think Jen and I need to hone in on our mad contact paper project making skills. ;)

Heya! If you live in the Triad area (or maybe even the Triangle?) you might already know about the First Friday Market held the first Friday of each month (4-9 pm). So last night, being the first Friday of August, was a market of course. It was super hot and even more humid but it was a great time. It's so much fun meeting new customers and vendors. You really start feeding off the energy of the crowd. Hopefully you get a chance to see it but if not, take a peek at our pics. :)
